Craft, supported by care. This page sets out our quality principles and the controls that matter to us. The specific process, handling instructions and product information depend on the dish and the operation preparing it.

01 Our quality philosophy

Momo Crown brings Himalayan soul and Asian craft to a global table. As a chef-led brand with food made in-house, our focus is on the ingredients, preparation and attention that give a dish its character.

Quality means several things working together: food that is suitable and safe, a recipe that delivers its intended flavour, an appropriate portion, considered presentation and accurate information for the guest.

The framework below describes the expectations we aim to uphold through preparation and service. It needs to be supported by product-specific procedures, trained people and relevant records.

02 Ingredient standards

A considered dish begins with ingredients that suit the recipe and meet the needs of safe preparation. Our priorities for sourcing and receiving ingredients include:

  • Clear identity. Understand what the ingredient contains, who supplied it and the relevant product specification.
  • Suitable condition. Check packaging, signs of damage, relevant date information and delivery conditions appropriate to the ingredient.
  • Reliable information. Keep ingredient, allergen and handling details current, including when a supplier or formulation changes.
  • Appropriate storage. Use the conditions, identification and stock rotation suitable for the product.

Ingredients with an unresolved safety or identity concern should be set aside from use while the issue is assessed. A visual check alone cannot establish that food is safe.

03 From ingredient to service

These six stages provide a practical quality framework. The exact sequence and controls depend on the product; some dishes require different preparation, cooking, cooling or holding steps.

  1. Select & receive

Review the ingredient, supplier information and delivery condition against the needs of the product.

  2. Store & identify

Maintain suitable storage conditions and clear identification so ingredients can be handled and used appropriately.

  3. Prepare with care

Bring recipe knowledge together with personal hygiene, clean equipment and appropriate separation of activities.

  4. Control the process

Use the product-specific controls needed for preparation, cooking, cooling or holding, with checks appropriate to the risk.

  5. Check & review

Review relevant safety controls, recipe consistency, portions and order requirements before the food moves to service.

  6. Pack & hand over

Match the meal to the order, use suitable packaging where needed and provide the relevant product and handling information.

Where a required check identifies a problem, the priority is to assess and resolve it before food is served or dispatched.

04 Hygiene & process control

A dependable production routine needs controls suited to its ingredients, equipment and working environment. Our quality expectations include:

  • Clean working practices. Appropriate hand hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, safe water and maintained food-contact surfaces.
  • Separation. Controls to reduce contamination between raw ingredients, ready-to-eat food, allergens and other sources of contamination.
  • Time and temperature. Product-specific limits and monitoring where cooking, cooling, storage or holding affect safety.
  • A suitable environment. Equipment maintenance, pest prevention and waste handling appropriate to food preparation.

Operating limits need to be established and verified for the actual product and process. General website wording cannot replace a food-safety plan or the procedures used by a trained team.

05 Consistency & checks

Our ambition is a recognisable Momo Crown experience, with checks that have a clear purpose and a responsible person.

Recipe & portion
Clear ingredient quantities, preparation guidance and serving expectations to support the intended dish.
Flavour & texture
Appropriate assessment against the recipe’s intended character. Taste, smell and appearance do not establish microbiological safety.
Safety controls
Relevant process checks, records and action when a required limit or condition is not met.
Order accuracy
The right items, quantities and agreed requirements, supported by clear identification and communication.

Handmade food can vary naturally in appearance. That character should sit within the agreed product description, portion and quality expectations.

Any sampling or laboratory testing programme needs to match the product and risk. A claim about testing should state what was tested, when and within what scope.

06 Allergens & dietary needs

Please discuss an allergy, intolerance or specific dietary requirement with the serving outlet before ordering. Ask for current information about the dish, including sauces, fillings, toppings and accompaniments.

Recipes, suppliers and preparation arrangements can change. A vegetarian or vegan description does not, by itself, mean that a dish is free from allergens.

Our quality expectations include accurate ingredient information, attention to changes and appropriate controls for allergen cross-contact. The relevant risks need to be considered for the actual dish and preparation environment.

If suitability cannot be confirmed, do not order or consume that item. This page does not replace the specific allergen information or food-safety responsibilities associated with your order.

07 Packaging & handling

Packaging should suit the food, its intended temperature and the journey to the guest. Our priorities are appropriate food-contact materials, protection from contamination and clear identification of the contents where needed.

Product-specific storage, use-by and reheating information should be based on the actual product and process. Follow the instructions supplied with the item and contact the outlet if they are missing or unclear.

A general freshness statement is not a shelf-life instruction. Packaging appearance alone does not establish that a product has been stored or transported correctly.

If food arrives with a suspected safety issue, do not consume it. Contact the outlet or the order-support route promptly so the concern can be assessed.

08 Traceability & technology

Technology should support the people behind the food. Our priorities are useful records, clear communication and information that can help the team understand what happened when a question arises.

  • Ingredient records. Relevant supplier, delivery and batch details, where applicable to the product.
  • Preparation records. Information about the production period and checks needed for the process.
  • Order references. Details that help connect a customer concern with the item, outlet and time involved.
  • Follow-up. Review the issue, identify affected food where possible and support corrective action or withdrawal when needed.

Records are useful when they are accurate, accessible to the appropriate people and supported by human judgement. Personal information should be handled with care; our Privacy Policy explains the broader approach.

09 People & improvement

Consistent quality depends on people understanding both the craft and the reason behind a control. Our priorities include role-appropriate instruction, supervision, clear responsibilities and opportunities to learn from feedback.

Changes to ingredients, equipment, recipes or preparation methods should prompt a review of relevant food-safety controls and product information. A recurring concern deserves attention to its cause as well as a response to the individual guest.

Specific claims about licences, certification, inspections or testing should identify the relevant business or site, scope and validity. Please contact us if you need information about a particular product or operation.

Helpful details include the product, outlet or platform, order date, order reference and a short description of the concern. If available, include the batch or date information shown on the packaging and a photograph where it is safe to take one.

For an urgent order or allergen question, use the serving outlet’s live contact or order-support route. Email may not be read before preparation or delivery.

Food-safety concerns and applicable consumer rights remain important regardless of whether a photograph or original packaging is available.
